Is your partner supportive?

I kinda though making a baby with another lady would be somehow different, like she would get what I was going though more. My wife has no interest in carrying. She is always supportive when we talk about things or when I bring things up. But she never asks, brings it up, or seems worried like I am all the time...I just feel like since it's my body we are examining and using that I think about it and feel it a lot more.

My wife is very supportive too but CK I felt like u did initially, like I was more involved. I would tell her to read things or look stuff up, she wouldn't. Then I read about involving your partner more, like having her track specific things so  that she was in charge of things, (tracking your cycles, BBT, CM, meds, etc) thus more involved. Instead of expecting her to read things, I would just tell her what I read. Its similar w/ husbands though because they aren't the ones carrying so there's isn't as big of an emotional attachment yet. Also with personalities, people process things differently, so that could be part of it. I've learned to tell people what I need from them. Have you been reading any books about pregnancy in lesbian relationships?

My wife is very supportive. She doesn't want to carry either and that's fine with me. I can't and don't expect her to understand everything I am going through but she tries. She gives me my shots in my stomach, she's there at every appt, she asks more questions than me and she gets just as upset when our IUI's fail. She is my rock throughout this long and hard process. No one including my wife can't totally understand what I'm going through unless they've been through the it themselves. All I can do is try to help her understand.

Mine is, you need to give it time. Once there's a baby in there her mind will adjust and it'll become more real. In the beginning mine was super excited but not very compassionate, as the weeks have gone on she talks to my belly and puts oils on it, it's the cutest. When I'm sick and throwing up she tries to help anyway she can, it probably just doesn't seem real yet. Give her some time.
