Delayed cord clamping insight

Tamara • 30 years old with 2 daughters 14 and 8 and pregnant with our first boy!
I had an appt with my perinatologist this morning and I asked him his opinion of delayed cord clamping and he said that its great for preemies before 35w and third world countries but for full term babies in the US it can be dangerous... He said we eat so many fortified foods that giving a full term baby that extra push of vitamins and mainly iron can raise their bilirubin to dangerous levels causing extended hospital stays and the need for light therapy and even blood draws to reduce baby's blood volume... Anyway I had never heard any of this reading up on it so I thought I would share it with y'all
