How can I ever trust a man after being cheated on?

I was with my ex for two years, we had moved in with each other and planned on getting engaged soon, and the when I was out of town visiting my sister, he broke up with me and before I was even back in town he was In a new relationship. My friends moved me out while I was away. He claims he never cheated, but I found out he had cheated the entire relationship. It's been about 5 months and I'm getting back into dating but I'm terrified.

I know the feeling. It's very hard. Plus then you tend to be abit crazy and want to constantly be checking his phone and everything like that. You need to trust though. Ask him to be very open with you. Tell him everything and he should do the same.

Oh gosh I am so sorry that happened to you and I can relate so much. I was cheated on by someone in the beginning of this year after dating for a long time (okay, it was very on and off, but we were still closer than ever). We had just gotten back into a relationship a little over a year ago and things were great. I went on vacation... Got back and things just seemed sketchy. His constant excuses for not seeing me... Anyways that went on for awhile and I cried almost everyday for months because he was abusive and started guilting me for feeling the way I did. I don't know why I let it go on for so long. Long story short, he cheated on me With multiple girls (I had just found that out and I think it actually went on for years!) and I think he was the one who gave me an STD. It would only make sense. Nasty breakup, haven't talked to him since. I've been dating this current guy for 7 months and he is amazing but I know where you're coming from. Somedays I feel so bad because he tries harder than the average guy to give me everything I want and treats me perfect, but something random will happen and I start to think "omg he's cheating...". It can be challenging to get past and I am slowly but surely doing that. The best thing you can do is try to think rationally about it... Is every guy a cheater? Of course not... Keep these things in mind when you have doubts. There are guys out there that will treat you the way you deserve to be treated. You just have to remember that. And take things slow. There's no rush. Communicate with someone you start dating. Tell him how you feel.
