Uncircumcised handjobs

I gave my boyfriend a handjob a few nights ago and we talked about it a few nights after and he told me that at one point there was pain but it was no big deal. I didn't bother asking what I did wrong because I know he would say that it didn't matter but I know that it's different/ possibly more difficult to give an uncircumcised guy (my boyfriend) a hand job compared to a circumsied guy.
