Abnormal Pap/HPV?

Question

So I had my first OB appt at 8 weeks about 2 weeks ago where I got tested for everything and also had a Pap smear done. Well they called me a few days ago to tell me it came back abnormal for HPV so they want to do a more thorough exam at my next appt on the 18th. It's called a colposcopy? I admit I feel rather confused and worried and wondering if anyone has gotten these results and what happened thereafter?

It won't effect your pregnancy and goes away after a year. As long as both partners are faithful. A colpo they just examin your cells.

There are many types, mine was found when I was pregnant with my first. The colposcopies are samples to look further. They will monitor your cervix for changes because pregnancy can accelerate cell changes, sometimes after delivery it will go away sometimes not. I had to have a leep in 2014 because mine became worse. Follow all doctor recommendations and try not to Google :)

I've had it done but not while pregnant. I had to end up having a leep procedure done to remove the abnormal cells. Not sure if they can do that with you pregnant though.

I had mine come back as abnormal as well during my full physical when I found out I was pregnant. They ordered a coloscopy to be done, and I was told I have pre-cancerous cells. I'll have to have another one done at 30 weeks and I guess we will go from there.

I've had HPV since 2012. I go every 6 months for a check up and have had all the procedures done. I'm 30 weeks pregnant now and they just monitor my cervix to make sure it's closed and long.
