Hydronephrosis at 18 weeks

I thought I was dying this weekend, had severe back pain on my right side  that made me want to get sick. I dot get sick easily either. Took an hour of lying on my left side for the pain to subside. Midwife believes this to be hydronephrosis caused by growing uterus putting pressure on my uterine tubes. Contemplating using accupuncture to help with the pain. Anyone else have any experince with this?
