Spotting with birth control.

When I first started the pill I never had any spotting between periods, I never even spotted when I wasnt on birth control. I started using the nuvaring for a couple years which I loved, but because of its price I recently went back on the pill and have been for a few months. Now all of a sudden Im spotting inbetween periods, during the time that I would be ovulating. Has anyone else experienced this? I hate it.
