Sharp pain in cervix

I'm 37 weeks and 5 days and I'm getting occasional sharp pains in what I can only assume is my cervix. Is anyone else getting that? I'm also having some occasional light practice contractions but they aren't related or happening at the same time. Is the sharp pain a light version of what labor is going to feel like? I was really hoping labor would be more crampy and less stabby. :-/
