Penetration

Well, my boyfriend and I attempted sex about 3 times. The first time the problem was getting him inside because of the pain. The second time was also painful, but the problem was allowing him to put more than the tip in. The third time, he went in pretty deep, but every time he tried to go in more, I felt like he was physically hitting something. It hurt a lot. I don't know if that's normal. He's about 7/8inches and he's my first. Can you guys let me know what you think or tell me how your first time felt because I don't know what to do or think.
