How early can baby's be born and survive?

Question

Realistically, how early can a baby be born and not die with the help of the NICU? They found out part of my csection scar is open from a defect of my previous csection and I've been having contractions since 18 weeks, which opens the scar even more... but my doctor doctors don't seem to be doing much because I'm only 20+6. Now i have to have my baby at 36-37weeks to avoid labor of any kind.

I was born at 27w in 1982.

Now I think viability down to 24weeks that they will try to assist baby if born early.

Like 22 weeks. It's a long scary road tho. 
My friends son (19yo) was born at 25 weeks and was the size of a small potato. 
If you feel your doctor isn't doing enough, see if you can get a second opinion.

I've always heard the earliest they can servive is 24 weeks and later. Any sooner than that they have a harder time serving. I'm pregnant with my second baby and all the Drs I have seen has said 24 weeks is the best for serviel.
