Had my 37 week appointment today. My doctor checked me and said I was still at 4cm and about 80% effaced. Then I felt a sharp pain/twinge. I said ouch. His nurse said it was good that I said ouch. When I asked why, he said he did a stretch to "stir things up." She said to expect some bleeding followed by brownish mucus. What's the difference between a stretch and sweep?
