Contractions?!

Question

How do contractions feel?! Are they really that painful? Are they bearable? I wanna go all natural (no epidural). Ftm here and I'm sooo scared of labor. Idk what to expect

There's no words to describe contractions because everyone has them differently. Personally I felt like they were the hands of satan squeezing my uterus!  I thought about going unmedicated but couldn't do it. Made to it 8cm dilated before I asked for the epidural

Contractions are the devil. Sorry to be so honest but it was so much more painful then I ever imagined. I'm so terrified to go thru it again. Best of luck to you!

Contractions hurt more then the pushing did for me. It started off feeling like really bad cramps, kind of like when you have to go to the bathroom cramps. Of course after my water broke my contractions started at 5 mins apart, so I never had any gradual build up, it just started off totally intense and got worse from there! By the time I got my epidural it didn't really have time to work, and yeah they're no joke. But I was a FTM and totally scared too and I survived it, and that's all that matters.

I had contractions for about 18 hours before they became consistent enough to go to the hospital and then I wasn't quite 4 cm yet so they had me walk and labor for another 1.5 hours there. It was intense to say the least. I have a pretty high pain tolerance but after that long I was worn out and asked for meds as soon as they were offered. I'm glad I took them though because it took another 18 hours to get my daughter out and there is no way I could have held out that long. That's not meant to be a horror story but you asked. To counteract that story I will tell you my friend was diagnosed with a silent cervix and uterus during the last 3 weeks of her pregnancy and she didn't even know she was in labor until she felt the pressure of her daughter fully engaging. Every woman is different. If you don't want meds stick to your guns! That's all I can say! And make sure you have a strong support system!

Everyone's pain tolerance is different. For me, the contractions were horrible. (I was also induced) I had to ask for pain medication through my IV just so I could sleep. Each time one came it got worse and worse. Once I got the epidural though I was fine. I have so much respect for girls who can go all natural because I was in so much pain 😂
