What's it like where you live?

Andrea • Happy Florida girl, Army wife and proud mami 💖
I'm from Tampa Florida and I absolutely love it. One of the things that I'm most proud of about my city is that I've never in the 20 years that I've lived here felt any sort of discimation or racism. I live in a very diverse place and growing up I've always had friends from all over and the color of their skin or their background was was never even really talked about besides it just is what it is. And I remember always in school black history month was celebrated as well as Hispanic history. There's also always parades and different festivals to celebrate all sorts of different cultures Asian, Hispanic, black, etc and also for different nationalities there's always celebrations for Germans and Bosnians and Irish it just goes on. My parents  taught me Spanish and I've never been ashamed of my culture and if anything my friends have been interested in it. My husband is white and he loves my family and all of his half brothers and sisters are half black and I adore them and I love all of his family.its just never been weird that we married each other. Maybe I'm just ignorant but not until this app where I started interacting with people from all over did I really realize how different it is in some places. What's it like where you guys live? Have you been treated differently or is where you live not really diverse so you've never had to go through something like that. I just think it's interesting and am genuinely curious.
