Twins?

So I've been TTC for 1 year, dr is putting me on Clomid 50mg for the first time...I heard that it can cause twins. My great grandma was a twin (not sure if it was identical or fraternal) so my question is, does anyone know how the twins generation works? And is there a possibly that I could have twins? Please send baby dust this way!!! ✨👶🏼👶🏼✨

Twins tend to be hereditary, so if someone in your family is a twin, your chances are much higher than for someone who doesn't. My friend is pregnant with twins and I believe her great grandmother was a twin.

Clomid only increases your chance of multiples by like 3.5% so unless you already carry a twin factor you'll have a single birth.

I took clomid due to a blocked tube so I actually ovulate fine and was definitely a little worried about ending up with multiples. But only one baby for me!

In my family my grandmother is a fraternal twin the gene has skipped a generation and landed on my mother's children . So either me or my sister can have twins me and my husband are hoping that it will be us us💖

I'm 34 weeks with fraternal twins. I wasn't on any medication but I have heard that it increases your chances. Take a look on the Twin & Mutilples forum and ask the question there, you might get a few more people with experience on that medicine that concieved twins.

I've heard that it's only if the twin gene is on your mothers side. So if it is your mother's mother, I guess you have the twin gene.

I'm one of a twin but it does run in the family. My grandmother (on my father's side) brothers were a set of twins. 
No one else have had twins in my family..

I took clomid and now I am pregnant with my twins couldn't be happier I'm getting a boy and a girl ❤ I have no family history of twins so yes u can get twins with or without twins in your family
