Of course, there is always that guy for me...but this time I really REALLY like him...but I'm confused by the signs he's giving me #help

Well, this is going to be really long...so warning! First off, we met and we kissed because I was drunk at a party...then we started texting because I was in a relationship and I wanted to apologize for what happened. Then that night we talked from 9pm-5am and I kinda seduced him and we ended up sexting. Then we were talking about relaxing things and I told him the beach in the evening is relaxing and he offered to take me out to just drink and smoke at the beach. But we ended up cancelling because he had errands. 
We pretty much talked every single
day. But then we stopped, it became more casual...I couldn't bare it so I told him how I felt, and he got upset because he thought I was being pushy (which I wasn't, I just want to know what's going on, so I could either keep feeling attracted to him or see him as my friend) although he says we are more than friends...but I think he means that because we had a sexual ish realtionship. We planned on having sex but it never happened. Anyways, then he texted me one morning saying , " I had a dream...and you were in it"SO WHAT AM I SUPPOSE TO THINK..I'm confused. He's been texting me, like him texting me first and my heart just melts but I want to get my feelings straight, not hope for something that isn't there
