Epidural?

Question

Ladies what are your thoughts on an epidural? Im really trying to avoid getting it done for many reasons but my boyfriend thinks I'm crazy. He respects my decision but he says it'll be very painful without one especially since I'm small. Any of you gone through labor without one? Any experience or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. ❤️

I tried and failed at not getting a epidural. I made it to 8cm and couldn't handle it anymore. It was a lifesaver. Contractions were worse than I thought! But more power to the mamas who go all the way without one

I didn't have one. Mainly because my mom was allergic and it made her pretty much seizure and I'm scared of anything being stuck in my spine. Anyways I was induced with pitocin and my labor was more uncomfortable then painful. I was only in labor 4 hrs and my daughter was here. I used a  yoga ball to roll my hips whenever my contractions came and it helped me so much. Also it helped to sit on the toilet i know thats weird but it did. Every labor is different for everyone but if you keep your mindset on no pain meds you can do it!!

Just remember your body is made for this, you CAN do it if you wish to:) I know I wouldn't personally get an epidural unless it was an emergency, as the thought of having a needle pushed into my spinal chord gives me the willies, as my auntie had it done and was left with a hole in her back. 
It's your choice, if you want to do it naturally you go girl! You can do it!
If not, that's perfectly okay. Giving birth to to another human isn't going to be an easy feat.

I regret getting it I'm going to try and not have this time around. You don't feel anything maybe a little pressure but what's the fun in that. Plus it slowed my labor down and they had to give me patocin to speed things up. I get back pain like crazy now from it.

I got one and it failed after 3 attempts. I had one before that birth, that failed as well. I'm thinking I'm just not compatible and my dr doesn't reccomend them for me, esp w my low blood pressure, he said it's likely I'd pass out if it did work. I was induced and honestly it wasn't as bad as a lot of people said. I did think it was worse than I 'imagined', because it's such a unique kind of discomfort, it's so hard to know what that's like beforehand. But still, not "kill me" bad. It would've been better/easier if I'd never had the epidural becuase even though i could feel everything, i was "required" to lay on my back,  have a catheter, and basically they turned off the lights and insisted all i was feeling was "pressure" and gave me some anti anxiety meds and told me to go to sleep. It was very obnoxious and I'll never tolerate that shitty treatment again;  epidural or not. Basically, I wanted the epidural, tried to get it, it didn't work and i panicked and freaked out for about an hour, and finally chilled out and realized i just had to get through it.

Was in labor for 23 hours with no epidural it was painful but i already have back pain and i didnt want it to get worst . Just try to breathe youll be okay

I was very against it went in refusing got to 7 cm and was begging for it after I got it it was smooth sailing from there I'm small as well 105lbs but now I do have back problems so keep that in mind!
