Painful entrance

So I just got over a bad yeast infection and when my man and I were being intimate he started to enter me and it hurt so bad! I told him to stop and he asked how bad does it hurt, I told him it's like losing my virginity over again. When he lubed up and pushed through it was all good and the sex was mind blowing, but how the hell did it hurt? Is that suppose to happen?!?!? I don't think it has anything to do with almost going a whole month without having sex...
