When is the first day of your cycle?

I'm starting Clomid for the first time and need to start on day 3. I had some spotting on Thursday and then a full flow yesterday. I just don't know if the spotting counts and if I should start the Clomid today or tomorrow?

My doctor told me you count from the first day of full flow. I actually called the day I spotted to get my clomid called in. And they told me to call back on the first day of full flow and they would call it in then.

With clomid some Drs say take clomid when you see spotting, that's what my dr told me. But I would wait til you see a good flow because spitting could be implantation and you wouldn't want to risk taking clomid if you were pregnant. I now switched dr and seeing an RE instead and being monitored while taking femara. So I'd say don't waste time taking the meds without being monitored. Having ultrasounds help in seeing if the meds worked, how big the follicles are, and if your ready to trigger for ovulation. Best of luck and baby dust!

My doc says that it's the first day of regular flow, not spotting, and if that is after 5pm, count the next day as 1. He does that just because his office is closed after 5 so it makes it easier to schedule things right.

Just call your dr and let them know exactly what you experienced. They will tell you when to take it.
