Ugh! I'm so confused

I'm so confused. My CM was eggwhite 12/3, it stopped and then it came back the morning (12/9)?? How will I know which one I'm actually ovulating?! We have been TTC for 10 months! 😩 I'm so frustrated. Any suggestions and input would be appreciated! Thank you! Also, does that mean my period will be later if I ovulated later? So instead of 12/18 (which I haven't got it yet), it will be 12/23. I took a test 12/18 and it was negative but maybe it was too early??
