Birth Control Effective?

So I've been on the pill for a while now. I know the whole rule about taking the pill at the same time every night. But ho important is it? I used to take it at 7pm. But with my odd work schedule, I take it anywhere from 7pm to 12am.

Im having a few symptoms of pregnancy and pink spotting.

Is there a chance? It wouldnt be bad, just a little sooner than we wanted.

According to the app, im roughly 2 weeks and 4 days. And i had light pink bleeding last night. But the app says i shouldnt have bleeding for 2 more days.
Could I have ovulated early?

Taking it at the same time is actually pretty important (or so I have been told). My doctor said you only really have an hour window to make sure your cycle is consistent. 
But each person is different!! I have a friend who has been on BC for 15 years and never takes it at the same time yet had never gotten pregnant. So changing the time you take it does put you at risk, but I don't know the probability. It doesn't hurt to test! You can find tests at the dollar store.

Timing is pretty important. Like another commenter wrote, majority have a 4h window to keep cycles consistent. Others have 12h Windows. The progestin only tablets (ex: mini pill) have only a 2h window for contraceptive benefits. So basically, it depends on what birth control you are on.

I didn't get regular cycles until I took it at the exact same time (taking lo lestrin Fe) just take it alongside something you do at the same time every day. For me my husband always leaves for work at 9am so right as he's leaving I take the pill. It's the only consistent event in the day but so far it's worked. I was bleeding like 15 days out of the month when I took it in a two hour window, now that has stopped.
