Safe Sex

How safe is it to have unprotected sex a day after your full period ends & you're spotting? I know it's not "safe" but I heard some times are safer than others, were still going to use condoms but sometimes he only can bring a few over and we end up having unprotected sex which is likely to happen tonight.. I'm not on birth control. Please don't say that I could get pregnant or anything bc I'm obviously aware I just want to know if it's safer during this time in my cycle. Thanks
