Lying to my friends

My bf and I decided to take some time apart (not a break up just time to work on ourselves) and idk. My friends knew a lot about my relationship and I wish I wouldn't have let them in so much. I know that they are going to ask how we are doing and I really don't want to have to explain everything to them because it's hard enough for me to process it all. I want to just lie and say things are fine. And things are fine with he and I we aren't a couple with titles anymore but we are working towards that again when everything is settled in our lives. Idk what to do on one hand it's embarrassing and I want to lie because I don't want to be the single friend. I have one friend who will constantly say "oh you need to find a man" "let me get you a man" it's annoying. I have another friend whose life revolves around her bf basically and I don't want to be the loser friend who is single. Any advice on how to handle it?
