Would you hire a male nanny?

Hypothetically, if you were looking to hire a nanny and a male applied, would you consider hiring him? Or would you insist on hiring a female because you trust women more to take care of your kids?

Nannies are typically female in most cultures but you do hear of the occasional male nanny. Would you hire a male nanny? If not, how do you justify gender equality in your hiring practices?
