Pregnancy announcements ??

Question

When are you early sept EDD people announcing you're expecting? I'm having a hard time keeping the secret! We are just so excited. But I know it's the norm to wait until 13wks. I've had a miscarriage before.. I hadn't told anyone expect my husband and had to deal with it alone and it was awful, but announcing and then "un-announcing" doesn't sound fun either. What are your plans??

To be honest I would wait to announce it. I have had 2 miscarriages back to back and announced too early with both. It is so hard to have to tell people you have miscarraied because you get tired of hearing "I'm sorry" "your time will come" I made a promise to myself when I got pregnant again I would wait until I was around 13 weeks to announce so I knew I was on the safe side!! If you want to announce it though do it because you don't know what can happen in the future😊

I had a m/c at 13 weeks, the day after we announced... This time, we are only telling immediate family until we are 20ish weeks. That way we will still have our immediate family for support if we loose this one, but we won't have to get the obligatory "that one just wasn't meant to be" comments from everyone we know.

I was about 10 weeks with my first,  when we were bursting to tell people. I'm a teacher and my principal helped me announce via email to my school of coworkers the good news :). Somehow it started to leak to some of my former students (who are now 1st graders) and it was all dandy until my doctor couldn't hear the heart beat....I had to force a miscarry at 11 weeks 2 days because baby no longer had a beating heart. I had the horrible misfortune of having to "untell" it to my whole school...nothing's worse than having to break that news to children in a school, especially when you don't know their export ended with death. I basically said (to those who asked), "you know what, I thought I was pregnant but I was wrong. Maybe sometime in the future"...thank goodness they are so sweet and innocent and they took it as "okay!" HOWEVER! Thanks to those ladies knowing my news...the God and the bad...they were able to help me through it. So many ladies told their stories to me...even if I didn't know them well. It helped me realize how common miscarriages can be and helped me remain optimistic :). The choice is yours...I am still deciding this time as well! Good luck :)
