How to deal with a shy boyfriend??

God firstly I LOVE HIM TO BITS..... But damn does he keep things locked up.. He's been single through his so far 3 yr AF enlistment. He's told me "yes I have strong feelings for u" , "yes I see us going all the way".... But he hates when I wanna further the conversation. I'm more of the thorough type,where as when he's done with a topic.... It's done... He's getting better... But I feel like there's more I could do to open his communication barrier... ADVICE PLEASE!!!

I am a very quite person and bringing up the fact that I'm a very closed book does not make it better. Don't even bring it up. It took me a year and I still sometimes struggle with opening up to my husband.. You can't change who someone is obviously but he will eventually get used to you and be more open. It just takes time. Be patient.

You need to be careful. You cannot change a person. I am a very quiet person and that's just who I am. Making me talk a lot is about as painful as making you not talk. So there's a fine line between making improvements and trying to make someone into somebody he is not.

He's not married. Found out why he's been so quiet!!!!! He popped the question this morning!!!!! We went out for breakfast like we normally do, and I asked if he and I were ok... And he said he wants the spend the rest his life with me. AGH

Conversation is important in a relationship. My husband hates talking too though he is not shy. So, if there are some important things to talk about I ask him, do you have time to talk? He understand that usually means he has to stop watching tv or being on his phone. I talk without going into minut details, drives him crazy, and I get his opinion and if we both agee, great, we move on. If not, we debate until one of us understands and than thats it its over. So, maybe just ask him a good time to talk and don't prolong it?

I don't believe you have to give up conversations to please him, but work on a middle ground.
