How to deal with severe verbal abuse!

Now I don't want to hear, " if my husband ever called me that even once he would get booted to the curb so fast!" I want to hear from ladies who have been past that point, how did you deal with verbal abuse or what did you do about it! Not all the time but when he is really grumpy I will get called cunt, fat( enough though I am pregnant) useless because I am a stay at home mom, or I don't contribute to society, bitch and the list goes on.
