When to announce

Question

When do you ladies think is a good time in your pregnancy to publicly announce that you're pregnant? Last time word got out very early and we ended up losing the baby at exactly 13 weeks. When did you ladies find it best to share the news with everyone?

Same exact thing happened to us last pregnancy. This time we didn't tell anyone(including parents) until we had seen and heard a strong heartbeat and had good ultrasounds from 6-13 weeks, then announced to family at 13 weeks and social media soon after. Things can still happen but we felt a little safer

Im 23 weeks and still haven't publicly announced it on social media.  I didn't tell family until 11 or 12 weeks. My extended family found out after my anatomy scan

Told family and close friends at 7 weeks last time shortly after we found out but miscarried so this time husband wants to wait till our ultrasound which is in a few more days. I'm 13 weeks today based on last period so as long as the ultrasound on Monday goes good and shows past 12 weeks then we'll tell our family and close friends but I'll wait a bit longer to post anything on Facebook for everyone else

Whatever time feels right for you. Personally, I waited until 14 weeks to pubically announce. I was scared to miscarry. Unfortunately things can happen at any point in pregnancy. At our 20 week anatomy scan we found out our baby has major defects. Not saying that to scare you, just goes to show there is no perfect time to announce.

I announced at 7 weeks. I had many people tell I shouldn't have announced so early because I might miscarry. I was told at 15 I shouldn't try to have children because of my heart and at 22 I was put on fertility meds so my baby is definitely a little miracle and still going strong at 23 weeks (just gotta make it through delivery). I just couldn't wait to tell everyone! I think whatever time you feel is right is the time you should go with. I don't believe there's a such thing as too early or too late. Just go with your heart!
