Cloth diapers?

Good to know! I really want to use them, for my baby and the environment. I wonder what the laundry is like, as in how many more loads per week and do you need to run an empty cycle between washes? I'll use disposable, too, on the go, traveling but I can't imagine all the waste and money.

FTM due in June so I can't speak from experience, but my cousin and my sister do it and swear by it. I know if they're traveling or sometimes if their babies are sick they do use disposables so it's not like it's cloth or nothing. I'm buying OsoCozy prefold diapers, snappis to fasten them, and Thirsties duo wrap snap diapers. It'll save you a ton of money, and it's leaps and bounds better for babies skin and the environment!

Big fan of flats and wool covers. I didn't cd my daughter in newborn because we had disposable ones from showers. Favorite covers are blueberry. All in 2 grovia. I only put her in cotton bamboo or hemp. No polyester. Breast milk was easy no need to spray off just wash. When she ate real food at 6 months I installed a bidet. Look into a spray pal. Good investment.

I used them for my daughter for a year. They were great. Our cost for cloth diapers compared to friends using disposable diapers was so cheap. I didn't worry about chemicals on her private parts. They were super cute. And laundry was a cinch.

My favorite newborn diapers are Lil Joeys. After the newborn phase, I like Charlie Banana, Imagine, or BumGenius.

My 66 year old nanny loved them. I would make sure to stuff the pockets, then she could just put them on like disposables during the day. No work for her. She put wet/soiled diapers in bags that we took home daily.

She was so proud of me for using cloth and breatfeeding. She said that she thinks that a lot of our new childhood illnesses are probably a result of "better technology" and "easier ways" of doing things. I think she may be on to something. :)

Oh, and I bought lots of gender neutral cloth diapers so baby #2 already has a stash ready.

I'm not using them because as a FTM I don't have time to wash extra clothes and scrape poop out lol
