When can baby show up on ultrasound?

So I call my doctor and tell her that I'm expecting and the nurse said doct will not see you until your 7 weeks pregnant!!!! Like I mean if she will not see how will I know how many weeks I'm pregnant!!!! SoANNOYED!!!

They got me in right away to take pee and blood but yeah the first ultrasound was around 6 or 7 weeks because they can't really see anything b4 that. Totally awesome the first time you get to see the little bean tho ;)

There's just not much you cab see in early pregnancy. My first ultrasound was at 6 weeks 5 days, I measured earlier than that and all we could see was the gestational and yolk sac so we scheduled another ultrasound.

They will go by your last menstrual period to know how many weeks you are. That's a question they ask you when you call to make an appointment. Most Drs won't see you until 7-8 weeks unless you have a history of miscarriages or health issues.

Where I'm at most doctors won't see you until 8 weeks. Go by your last period to calculate weeks until then, that's what the doctors go by anyways before ultrasound measurements.

I'm in Scotland and where I am it's a midwife who sees you for a booking in appointment at 8 weeks and they take bloods and we don't get an ultrasound until 12 weeks, we are giving another ultrasound at 20 weeks and that's it unless they have any reason for cause for concern. 
We get many appointments with the midwife in between ultrasounds and only see a consultant doctor if there is any reason too. 
With my first born I had an addition scan at 36 weeks as they were concerned I had gestational diabetes which they said my little one was measuring small but luckily no gestational diabetes and I delivered jay 37 weeks + 4.

Doctor will work out how far gone you are by the first day of your last period.

Your gp should be able to scheduled  a blood test to confirm but generally speaking ultrasounds are not done till 6-7weeks any earlier and they wont see anythinh but a sac

It's normal. It terrified me lol. My OB was able to get me in at 6 weeks, but originally they didn't want to see me until 8-10 which they said was the norm. If you're anxious to confirm call your normal doctor to have a blood test done :)

That's pretty mormal. Typically they won't be able to see a heartbeat through vaginal ultrasound until 6 weeks or more. There's no point in them seeing you before then. You know how many weeks you are by the first day of your last menstrual period.
