Ovulation and blood tests

6 months trying and no sign as yet. I have been to gp and due to me having long cycles 40-55 days he is going to check my hormone levels to see if I'm ovulating. I bleed every cycle but just later than always predicted. I've been off pill for 7 months. Could I still not be ovulating even although I'm bleeding? I was thinking of trying maca but I heard it can alter hormones for first month. I was going to wait until after blood tests to start taking it so I don't get false hormone results. Any advice would be great
