Mild pain in abdomen?

Hi! I'm 6 weeks pregnant and have been having some intermittent mild pain in the left side of my abdomen. It doesn't feel like a cramp so much as a sharp twinge. The pain is very mild and only happens briefly every couple of hours. I called my nurse and she said to worry only if the pain gets much worse and doesn't go away and/or if there is spotting (there is not). However, I am worried anyway. Is anyone experiencing this?
