For me I get real bad pains in my back ( kidney area) and have to pee every second but only get a drop out. I've had 5 of them so pretty good at diagnosing my own lol. I also had a kindney infection once. Way worse for me. Felt the same as far as the pain and the not peeing but I was peeing blood and had a high fever. I would go to the er if u think u have one. You're gonna want some pain meds and they will know which ones u can and can't have. If it's an infection u will need some antibiotics for sure.

I recently had a kidney infection, it started out feeling like I pulled a muscle in my back and then progressively got so painful that I was shaking uncontrollably the next day. My husband took me to urgent care and they gave me antibiotics for it. You will know, they get very painful very fast. They are very dangerous so go to the doctor right away if you think you may have one.

Kidney infection is usually fever and dull aching pain in your mid-back. Kidney stones can be excruciating, again pain is usually located in the mid back area.
