Taking breast pumps to the hospital?!?

I really want to breastfeed with this one and was wondering how many people took or are taking a breast pump to the hospital? If so do you take the bottles you want to use just in case the baby doesn't latch on?

You don't need a breastpump at the hospital, your milk doesn't come in for a couple days.  And if you do need a breastpump for any reason they have hospital grade Medela pumps that they let you use while your there. Save yourself the trouble or carrying it around.

I won't be using mine until a few weeks before returning to work. My hospital has a home nurse check up program so if I need help or have questions she visits 2 days after discharged checks mom and baby,weight and temps and answers questions. Love it!! My hospital also offers one on one pump and breastfeeding help 5 days a week walk in or appt. I used with my first so amazing they also rent pumps and give free materials

You really shouldn't pump until after your milk comes in anyway .. so you won't need a pump right away. Your milk will take about a week to come in ... if the baby is having trouble latching then they'll help you and you can figure out why , it could be something simple. But I wouldn't suggest pumping right away. Or taking one to the hospital.

You could probably ask about renting one to use in the hospital while you are there.
