What is irregular periods?

Can someone please explain to me what an irregular period is? Or how to tell if you are irregular or not?

Irregular periods is basically you have no idea when their going to show up. Some days mine would come every 28 days, then next month it would be every 23, sometimes even at the lowest 18. It's not a regular period. Hope this made sense.

Irregular is not getting a period every month or it lasting alot longer than it should. Ive had them ever since i started. I never know when it will come, skip a month, last a few days or 2 weeks. Ive had periods that lasted 3 months and have gone a year without a period. I have been on the pill for 9 years and none of them have worked to regulate it.

Irregular means you can't predict when tour period comes because your cycle varies too much. The average is every 28 days but it's common for a cycle to be as long as 35 days. If your cycle is regular it will come within your specific cycle length, maybe a day or two early/late. The best way to know if you're regular is to chart your periods for 6 months to a year and find your pattern.

You dont get a period every month. Like for instance with me having pcos i can go from having them every month to not having one for 6 months.
