On and off slight pain lower abdomen

Last few weeks I've been getting just on and off slight cramps/pulls in my lower left abdomen?? I don't know if it's just digestion or somethjng more serious? Some days I won't even feel anything but other days it'll be little cramps few times a day. I'm too scared to go to the doctor. I am sexually active with my boyfriend but we do use protection.
