FYI blood gender test. (Worth the read I feel)

💖
Just trying to warn people out there. The test is optional- not mandatory. Therefore it's rare for instance to cover it! It's actually a genetic test and most doctors wouldn't suggest it unless you have a risk of birth defects. The one I almost got was 1600 dollars but I know someone who claimed to have spent I want to say close to 3k on one of memory serves correct. I may be misquoting. Anyways don't get it done unless you are highly recommended to and if you don't mind the bil. Call your insurance provider and verify how much If any will be covered. If can be coded as family history and that way the insurance company may cover even more of the cost. But in my experience (and I have really great insurance) they would have to do a claim and those claim can only be filed AFTER I get the test. The insurance company would need medical history records indicating the need for this test. Then the insurance may cover it or some of it. Assuming your deductible is already met!!!!!
Just something to consider as I am reading a lot about blood test for gender. If you're only getting it for the gender you might consider looking up an independent ultrasound  clinic they can do gender test as early as 14 weeks!! I paid 75 dollars for mine! 75 is a lot more doable than 1600 and it includes. 4D sonogram.
Hope this helps!!
