Skin to skin with dad?

Question

I really love the idea of my husband partaking in some skin to skin action after baby is born, but I asked if he'd be interested and he seemed apprehensive, and basically said he felt it would be awkward for him to just whip his shirt off and hold the baby in the hospital.

What are your thoughts? Anyone have any good articles on benefits skin to skin with dads?

My husband did it, but kept his shirt on and put baby under it.

My husband had to do this for our daughter because I could not due to complications with my c section. He felt awkward buy said it was the most amazing thing! It also helped to regulate her body temp!
