As with my first pregnancy, I suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum this pregnancy, but much worse. It began around 5 weeks. Thankfully I was better prepared to handle it this time. My doctor approved a PICC line right away so I could begin IV fluids and meds at home. Around 32 weeks my fluid levels began dropping. Since I had the PICC line my dr. just had me increase my daily bags of fluids, but no improvement. At 34 weeks I was admitted for hospital bedrest and fetal monitoring. I was given the steroid shot for baby's lungs immediately just in case. Thankfully my fluid levels stayed stable until I reached 36 weeks gestation. After 8 hours labor and one push, our son, Cohen, was born at 6 lbs 2 oz and perfectly healthy!
