Migraines?

Question

Anyone gone to the ER because their migraines were so terrible? I have them everyday around the exact same time 6-7:30 and they don't go away. Its just a constant pounding nonstop that starts in one section of my temple and the pains slowly spreads across my forehead. I don't know what else to do. I don't want to take medicine every day because it seems like it would be too much by the end of the week. I just don't know what else to do. If you've experienced this, what do you do? If you've gone to the ER, what have they done or recommended for you?

My dr suggested an anti nausea and benadryl with a glass of ice cold water and a nap. Works for me everytime.

I usually get a cold gel ice pack and place it in back of my neck or a cold towel or I usually nap.

Had the same issue went to a nuerologist & got diagnosed with Chronic migraines...and have to take firocets whenever I feel the onset of a migraine so it's not an everyday med mainly because I no longer get them on the daily...

I would get them if I have a lot of salty food, or don't think enough water. My neurologist put me on magnesium 400mg and it's been helping ever since. If you haven't already I'd suggest going to a neurologist to get to the root of the problem.

My cousin had them really bad. They did a bunch of tests and stuff and couldnt figure out what was causing them. They told her to try a gluten free diet and she SWEARS not eating gluten solved the problem. She never gets migraines any more unless she eats something with gluten in it. 
I think she also said she takes vitamin b2

I've had migraines since I was 12 (I'm 25 now). I've been on all kinds of medication and have even had an ER trip. Getting them every day is not good. I'd definitely recommend slowly weening yourself off of medication for them. It sounds like you take medicine every time you get them?  Migraines are funny and if you take too much medication for them you start getting "rebound" headaches where your body wants the medicine so it gives itself a headache so you'll take it. I don't take medication for them at all anymore and I rarely get them now when I used to get severe ones with nausea and vomiting like 6 times a month. My father is a pharmacist and he also agrees with the rebound headache theory. As far as things to do to help other than take medicine, a warm washcloth on your forehead or the back of your neck is really soothing, a quiet and dark room where you can fall asleep, or pressure on my head where it hurts the most usually does the trick for me. I'm having that issue I feel like I'm taking to much Tylenol I brought it up to my Dr and they said keep drinking fluids. Headaches are common because of the hormones just keep your self hydrated.. I'm only 8 weeks not sure how far along you are but be sure to bring it up at your next appt
