Bleeding??

Okay so I just finished my period like two days ago and was still experiencing some slight spotting, which is normal I guess, and I've had sex the day after my period before without any problem. This time though, my boyfriend and I had sex but I started bleeding. He said nothing felt weird or out of place but he had blood on the condom and his boxers. What could have happened??
