How do your partners react month over month?

Question

Hi! I'm 39 and TTC #1 with my husband who is 41. We are literally only one try in to this effort. I got my period this morning which I was disappointed about because I am an overachiever, but I didn't feel overly upset and just chocked it up to "okay, no big, we'll try that again". Incidentally, my doctor said that she will fast track fertility testing if we're not successful after 6 months since we're older parents. My husband happens to be out of town, so we discussed this over the phone. It will be easier for me to tell when we're in person, but I was surprised how sad he seemed. What is it like for you and your partner? How do you console each other through this process? I have to admit that compassion isn't always my strongest quality, so any advice is appreciated! Thanks! 😀

My husband is more positive,  he tells me that we are going to have a baby soon and  we just need to keep trying.  But still every month I get disappointed, However I have a feeling that this is going to be our year. Baby dust!!

Sometimes I think he does care at all. When it is time for us to try about the 5 fertile days; there he comes home late and tired go to sleep for these days and after it over now he come back and try to have love with that when I tell him I am not also in the mood since I know that I won't be conceiving. Now I am pregnant after trying for 3 years with 4 miscarriages.  I won't be telling him till I reach 3 months.  When a man think being in control that when I said no to his nonsense and trust in God. By the way miracle still happen. Please don't give up

As soon as I stopped trying.  I went to the doctor for a ultrasound to make sure my girl business was ok and got a heartbeat.  No drinks for me except milk. It’s so surreal

Similar situation here... been "actively" trying for 1 cycle, af arrived yesterday! I was more disappointed than I thought I would be. My husband was positive and tried assuring me it will happen. Good luck ladies!!

I'm 38 and my husband is 39. Been trying to conceive for over a year now. An ectopic and 1 miscarriage and now pregnant again. When I'm pregnant he is VERY excited and says he loves me even more. When I lose the baby he's disappointed but very understanding and is able to move on much faster than me, which I'm sure is only natural. He assures me that our lives can still be fulfilling without children.

My husband is much more positive and doesn't let it worry him or at least he doesn't show it. Every month he jokes and says it will happen just means we can have more fun trying

My husband is a gift from God no doubt... we are going on 4 years of trying with 4 miscarriages. I’m also 39.5 and he’s 37. He’s been SUPER supportive though!! Never complained about all the testing, vitamins, timed BD, weird lube, the ecstatic ITS POSITIVE, the horrific first ultrasound and hearing “We are sorry but it stopped growing at (insert week 5-11 here since they all varied but were lost in that time frame)”. Only once did he need to take a time out and spend a weekend with his brother when yet again another miscarriage happened last winter. I completely understood. We are back on the baby track again and praying for a sticky baby. I hope you get your baby as well and ASAP!!! No matter what hang in there ❤️

It's just as discouraging n sad for the guys. Sex becomes a laborious chore is keep chasing him around with a pee stick. U really need to focus on ur partner when ur together and the experience will be far better. My husband acts like he doesn't care bc he's trying not to get his hopes up, b/c I had a mc earlier this month n he was devastated. It's like going from winning the lotto to losing everything in 60secs
