Hiccups??

Question

I had the strangest sensation last night while lying in bed - it was a rhythmic "twitching" about 2" below my belly button. It twitched about every 15 seconds & lasted for about 5 minutes. Is it possible for Baby to get hiccups at 10 weeks? And is it possible for me to feel them, if so?

Well, I think you only need a diaphragm to hiccup & Baby's diaphragm is developed at this point. And I should clarify: it wasn't a visible twitch of my belly. It was a deep down super tiny twitch that my husband couldn't even feel. It's my 3rd pregnancy, so I'm pretty familiar with all the spasms and stretching that go along with being preggers. I suppose it could be anything, but I'd like to think it was Baby 😍

I really don't think baby has all the necessary body parts developed that it takes to form a hiccup. And if baby does have the ability to hiccup, it would the teensiest tiniest hiccup imaginable. Not enough to twitch your belly. Muscle spasms are super common at this stage of the game, though. It just comes with the territory of stretching everything out.
