Is this safe to use?

I know the safety around car seats is very stringent. Is this safe to use to protect the seat of your car from the car seat? Does it effect the safety of the car seat at all?

This is what I use its not plastic like the britax so it allows you to secure the seat better.

My car is older is has slippery fake leather seats so I NEED to put something under the seat to buckle it in securely. I use an old blanket. My seat said in the instructions to use towels or blankets as needed to get the proper angle and stability, so no, something under the seat doesn't void the warranty. That statement applies to head supports, infant seat pads etc, that might interfere with how the child fits into the seat. I do agree with the other comment that this would probably work better with a convertible seat than an infant seat. Other than that, it just depends on your car I  think.

I got it and ended up not using it. I felt like the base did not sit correctly on the seat with the extra layer. I think it may be better for a convertible car seat and not an infant one. Plus any after market stuff voids your warranty. I'll probably return it. Not worth it to me

I believe the warranty is void if you use stuff like this but I'm not 100% sure I use diono mats but both seats are so secure they don't move at all. Double check there are car seat checks and places you can go where they check the safety and installation of the seat. I bet they will tell you if it's ok or not.
