When's to late to drive on a vacation? ??

My husband is really wanting to go to Florida before the baby comes with his family. I'm a little nervous with it being such a long drive.. we live in Indiana so it would be like 14 or so hours.. and the week they are planning on going in would be 34 weeks going into my 35th week. Have any of you other mommas traveled that long and everything was ok?? I just don't want to go into labor while driving haha #worriedmomma

I would not even fly anywhere at 35 weeks unless my mom was on her deathbed and I needed to be there. Just visiting family is out of the question. Not only will you be super uncomfortable but the baby could come at that time. And driving, you could be in the middle of nowhere!

I traveled 9 hours at 29 weeks with my son... and unexpectedly had him away from home prematurely!!! We had to stay away from home for 2 months whole my son was in the nicu... this time around I am NOT traveling anywhere further than an hour from my hospital!

When I was pregnant with my first son we went to Florida when I was 32-33 weeks. It's a 12 hour drive for us! I was worried too but everything was fine and it was a nice getaway before the baby got here!

I have traveled back and forth from el Paso to Austin, that's an almost 9 hour drive. I've gone and came about 4 times since I got pregnant. I am 25weeks, plan to go next month for my baby shower , then come back and then go again beginning of April since I'm due at the end of April and have the baby over there. I'm a little nervous traveling the last month but my doctor says I'm fine.

Yeah, I just think after 32 weeks it's too much to go on that long of a car ride.  I know so many people whose babies were born premature and that would worry me being away from my dr especially on a long car ride. My dr even told me to be very careful flying to Disney ( the first time we drove 12 hours). That I needed to walk up and down the aisles for 10 minutes every hour. My advice would be to ask your dr how they feel about it as most usually advise against it. They will let you know what precautions to take or what they advise

My best friends baby turns 1 during my 35th week of pregnancy and she lives 3 hours away from me and I asked my doctor if I would be able to go and he said not to go to her house 3 hours away at that point in my pregnancy so I don't think I would drive 14 hours away unfortunately.

The main worry besides labor would be blood clots in your legs from sitting for so long.

Is this your first? You might be fine but clear it with your doctor first. I'm on my second baby and the docs say not to go anywhere over 1 hour away after 35 weeks just in case. Second babies come faster. But out of state trips might be a no-no after 35 weeks for you, so check with the doctor.

I don't think I would travel that late in pregnancy. I have traveled to Disney world at 26 weeks during my second pregnancy and am again at 25-26 weeks going to Disney but usually once you hit third trimester long travel is not recommend.
