Conceiving while Breastfeeding??

Hi ladies! My baby is now 5 months old and we are wanting to conceive hopefully in the next 2 months. I haven't got my period back yet and I'm still breastfeeding 4 times a day plus solids but no night feeds.. Has anyone gotten pregnant while bf? Any tips to increase chances? Or a way to track ovulation if there's no period? Any links or apps that would be helpful would be appreciated!! xx

I got pregnant breastfeeding. I never went longer than 5 hrs with out nursing or pumping. hubby and I wanted a second baby but docs warned us it is highly unlikely to concieve with our fertility issues and breastfeeding. . .  Well I'm not almost 6 weeks with baby #2. :)

Yes, I have! I was giving 2 bottles a day and the rest bf and got pregnant when my baby was 4 months. I was getting my period.
I have a friend who doesn't get pregnant until she weans completely and she has 10 kids who are all about  2-2 1/2 years apart. She also didn't have a period until weaning and often gets pregnant that or the best month.
They say your odds increase the less you are exclusively bf, but really everyone's body is different so it's hard to say.

Let me tell you I live in a very baby filled town. All the women EBF and have 6+ children all within a few months of one another.... I see it constantly. Just because you haven't had a cycle does not mean you are not ovulating during BF.

If you have not gotten your period you're probably not inculcating. Breastfeeding usually prevents ovulation.  Talk to your doctor. I'm not sure if you can take drugs like clomid when you're breastfeeding bit maybe.

I got pregnant breastfeeding! I used on ovulation monitor and saw that I had a short Luteal phase (very common when breastfeeding)- but I still got pregnant within 2 months of trying! But my son was 15 months when I got pregnant, and I got my period back at when he was 13 months... Do you have yours back yet?

You ovulate before a period. I used fertility friend and was nursing my then 16 month old. But,befpre a year baby needs breastmilk or,formula and drying up while pregnant is very common. So just think about that. You could always start when he is around 9 mos or so.
