Is it OK to date your friend' ex?

One of my close friend is talking to my ex, she doesn't know that I know! He keeps telling ppl that I don't want him to talk to the folks I associate with which isn't the issue at all. The issue is I don't want him to date my friends. Out of all girls why does it have to be my friend? He's already my niece' godfather and now he's talking to my close friend. I feel like he'll never be out of my life, like I'm stuck with him. Am I tripping or is it ok that I feel that way?

I think it's completely disrepectful of a CLOSE friend to date your ex. Bc to me that means that person was there for you through the ups and downs of the relationship and then completely disregarded all of your feelings towards the person for their own sake. A friend that isn't super close saying an ex is fine. But if I confided in you about love and heart breaks and everything in that relationships and you turn around and basically tell me to go fuck myself and date that person?? Hell no. We wouldn't be friends anymore.

If your friend isnt normally like this, try and rationalise this - she hasnt slept with him while your with him, she doesnt sound like shes even done anything yet. I had my sister date the only guy i had a steady relationship with in high school - that was weird af but at the end of the day you like who you like and although it feels that way it doesnt have anything to do with you or your feelings. They arent doing it to hurt you. Just talk to her. X

I think it's WRONG for a close friend to date your ex or even talk to them in that way, it's happened to me, I had a friend all the way through school up to me being 18-19 and had 2 serious boyfriends, the first one evrytime we would split up she'd be straight there talking to him, kissing him uploading pictures etc, she apologised and I forgave her, anyway I met my now current partner and he's from a different town so she didn't now him, I fell pregnant and we went through a rough patch and called it off, anyway I ended up in hospital with a kidney infection only to find out she'd been messaging him on Facebook got his number and was begging him to meet up wth her, I finally Come to my senses and realised she wasn't a FRIEND but a foe, no TRUE friend should do that to you, get rid of both of them, it's childish games that you don't need in your life :)!

To me it depends, but I grew up in a small town where it's kind of impossible to not date someone's ex.

If you were in a serious relationship with him and it ended badly then it's totally disrespectful of her. If it was something casual then maybe try to be happy for them in hopes it turns out better than ya'll did.
