More Business of Being Born

Brianna • I've been with my husband for over 7 yrs, married 1.5yrs. After 6mo TTC we got the best Xmas gift! EDD 8.24.16
I watched the first and 2nd of this series yesterday and it has reassured my decision to go with a midwife; but it has also made me seriously consider going natural. Epidurals make me nervous but I had previously thought about an iv for pain. Now I'm thinking I'd rather use nothing. I'm also nervous about sonograms now too after watching the 2nd one.  I typically eat healthy whole foods, organic for certain items, I don't take any medication and I have confidence that my body knows what to do. After all women have been doing this since the beginning of mankind. But with the rise in autism and so many other complications that they don't know the cause of. Pitocin and other drugs to induce, drugs taking over your natural instinct, epidurals that slow it down, so may cesarean sections; it's like a spiral that once it starts you are no longer in control over your birth. Does anyone else feel this way?
