Do you think it is okay under any circumstance to force an individual into a marriage?

Question

For my modern studies assignment i will be looking into and studying the arguments for and against forced marriage. 
One of the aims I need to achieve is a poll/survey/interview about the topic I have been given.

(Take into account the many cultures/countries)
Some Circumstances for an individual to be forced into marriage includes: 
- For their own safety
- Economic comfort 
- Protect family's image (e.g. Daughter gets pregnant out of wedlock and that certain family lives in a Culture where it is fround apon and the parents make her marry a man to protect that image) 
Etc.

I don't mean anything malicious by this. I just need statistics of what people think about this topic for the assignment.

There are absolutely cultures where forcing a marriage may be the safest and most ethical thing to do. It's unfortunate that it works this way. But like you said, girls who get pregnant out of wed lock are at high risk for being not only shunned but also murdered or tortured in many societies. People need to realize that world is much bigger than 'murica and that there a lot of different factors.

That's a really tough one. This might be a cheater answer, but I'll say it's never right but it is understandable at times. Reading narratives from parents who chose those sorts of marriages for their daughters is heartbreaking. Having to choose between a forced marriages and the threat of imminent kidnapping and rape is a choice no one should ever have to make.

I can't imagine why that would make anyone safer or more financially stable. The idea that a family benefits from a dowry in current time for the average citizen is based off the assumption that the other family or married spouse cares or is willing to share with the in-laws simply because they're legally related. That just sounds far fetched to me and I'd call individuals in a situation like that "moochers" or something to that accord. Maybe even abusive depending on the situation.

But then the world is a big place full of situations and personalities I can't fathom. I still think it's wrong to force someone to marry against their will regardless. You're still using someone.
