It's official...

Shaylah
Well I officially have pcos. My doctor called me today and went over all my test results with me. My ultrasound showed lots of follicles in the periphery of my ovaries which is classic pcos.
With my blood tests we really just talked about certain things and not all of it. But my fasting glucose was fine but my insulin was high, my testosterone was high and my vitamin d was very low.
So the plan going forward is:  I'm starting metformin at 500mg/day with the goal being 2000 mg/day and I also got a prescription for vitamin d twice a week.
So we will do that and then when my next cycle starts I'm supposed to call and we will decide if that will be a good cycle to start femara or not(I think depending on how metformin is going and what dosage I am at, etc) she also mentioned something (I don't remember the name of it) to take that will help with my high testosterone.
So metformin and vitamin d now. Hopefully femara with my next cycle. I should mention that with my next cycle if we do the femara I would also get a mid cycle ultrasound to check follicle size and stuff. Which I am very very happy about because #1 we can see if it's working and #2 it's just nice to know what exactly is going on with my body especially since for so many years I have had no idea even what to expect from my own body.
