Which is better?!

Which is better a spinal tap or an epidural? I've been told by several people that the spinal tap is way better but I've never even heard of a spinal tap..? What are y'alls opinions?

You're talking about needles o.o  just go natural.  Haha jk.  That's just me, the thought of either makes me want me want give birth in a car.  But I've only heard of friends and family who had epidurals

It's a spinal anaesthetic. A spinal tap is likened to a lumbar puncture which is a diagnostic test. At my health facility a spinal anaesthetic is not an option for labour, only for a c-section. It completely anaesthetises around you belly button down and lasts for a certain amount of time. An epidural is used for labour and is a constant infusion which can be increased or decreased depending on need and will last for a longer time frame. Hope this helps.
